Ergonomics
Ergonomics is the Science of Fitting the Workplace to the Worker. Ergonomic Evaluations are designed to identify risk factors that contribute to repetitive or cumulative injuries such as back pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. Occupational therapists educate clients in proper work habits and in making adjustments to their workstations. We make changes to existing workstations and can recommend modifications for tools. This service is available to patients, wellness clients and employers.
ERGONOMIC EVALUATION
An ergonomic evaluation can be scheduled at your workstation. Whether you work in an office, at a job site or work from home (or even your car!), we can schedule an onsite ergonomic evaluation to assess and correct your workstation. The evaluation usually takes about one hour and we will provide you with all the tools and resources to stay healthy and productive. Included in the evaluation is a follow up by phone or email to assess your ergonomics after the evaluation. To schedule an onsite ergonomic evaluation with one of our licensed therapists email info@austinhealthworks.com.
VIRTUAL ERGONOMIC EVALUATION
This is a customized ergonomic evaluation and educational service that is done remotely. Our therapists will get some background information from you about how you are feeling, medical concerns if present and what type of work you do. From there, you will submit a photo and the evaluator will assess the workstation for ergonomic risk factors and provide a recommendation about how to improve your workstation. Once you are able to implement the suggestions, we follow-up with you to make sure you are feeling good at your workstation! Click hereto get started Ergonomic Evaluation.

ERGONOMICS TRAINING
Our therapists are available for training sessions for large groups. We will provide training materials and deliver a lecture and demonstration at your office. We will tailor the training to your specific work environment and will focus on educating employees about what they can do to stay healthy and adjust their workstations themselves. We do not make product recommendations at these training sessions.
